New for 2010


 
1. Weight rule of 1600lbs of crew will stay in place
2. Boats will be weighed in June
3. Anchor start will remain with a larger starting line
4. Fleet likes the second racing circle at Seaside and would like to try one weekend up bay with second circle on the green Island course
5. Wind speed has been modified to 20 mph and races shortened at 22mph
6. Torch adjustable spreader was discussed
7. Boats will race at LEHYC again this summer for the Reingold Cup
8. Racing schedule will be the same as last year.  The first racing will be the Wanamaker race at IHYC
9. The Worlds and the Beaton trophy will be sailed the last weekend in Sept at BHYC
10. We are requesting the bay for only two throw outs for the BBYRA season
11 New sails will need only one set of reef points due to the lowering of the wind speed
10 Jim Kellogg will be stepping down as Fleet Captain next October

2009 Season

Congratulations to Spyder and Torch for tying for the Fleeting Captain Trophy in points after the throw outs.
 Spyder in her second season has become the overall champion for the 2009 season after the tiebreaker
 Lotus won in 2007, Spy won in 2008 and now Spyder for 2009.   Three downbay boats.

Congratulations go to the entire Witch team for winning the BBYRA Championship.  Witch has been second most years but it took Brent to get married to put them on the podium. Congratulations to Austin Fragomen for now owning a TP 52.  I am sure it is a seamless transition from steering an A Cat  to steering a TP52.  Good luck with managing a crew of 15

 Thanks go to Peter Kellogg for lending the Spy crew one of his spare masts and allowing Spy to finish the season.  Bill deRouville and George Schuld will be constructing a new one this winter.

Thanks go to the Kelloggs, Jimmy and Peter for the A cat worlds shirts.  Thanks go to Bev Vienckowski for the great design.

Congratulations to Peter Kellogg on his new boat, Silent Maid.  It was fun having her in some races.  I hope that continues.

Fall meeting

RAVEN WINS!

Congratulations go to Team Raven for winning the bay championship.  Team Raven finished with 5 firsts.
Spy was second and Spyder third.

Congratulations go to Team Wasp for winning the Middleton Cup Friday night

Beachwood Race

Only one race was started due to winds that would not settle.

This was not much of a race due to the lack of wind.  The Spyder team found some wind coming from the west and rode it the the largest win of the season.  The teams were separated due the converging winds.

Congratulations go to the Spyder team and winning the Skip Morehouse trophy.

This weekend two races at LYC with a party after the racing.

The Raven team still has a three point lead over Spy and a 5 point lead over Torch and Spyder.

Should be a fun day with the tropical depression moving north just in time for the weekend
